Aromatherapy - (Kansas City campus)

This one-day aromatherapy course will teach an understanding of how the essential oils' chemical makeup and plant characteristics work together to provide therapeutic benefits to the mind, body, spirit and emotions.

Students will learn how to utilize essential oil aromatherapy in a manner that is respectful to native cultures, sustainable for theplanet, and as safe as possible for both the client and practitioner.This class will zoom in on a small number of essential oils, however its principles are applicable far beyond what time allotts for. Students will learn how to blend multipleessential oils in order to compound and amplify their therapeutics, and utilize them in asafe and effective manner. In this course, we teach the blending process by allowingstudents to create their own personal essential oil blend to take home and experience themselves.

Prerequisite: Open to all

Required Supplies: Sheets, massage lubricant, writing supplies

TCM - Introduction to Cupping - Springfield Campus

Spend a day with Dr. David Yoo, Wellspring's Educational Director and one of or more popular instructors, as he discusses cupping techniques.  This is an introductory class to cupping that will give you the opportunity to add to your existing massage skills. You will be able to provide your clients with a new technique which will greatly enhance their treatments. Cupping set is included in the cost of the class.

Prerequisite: Licensed bodyworker or healthcare practitioner

KLOSE Presents: Manual Lymph Drainage Certification (Kansas City campus)

Manual Lymph Drainage (MLD) is a very effective yet gentle manual technique that is easy on the therapist’s body and well tolerated by even highly sensitive clients. MLD reduces swelling and detoxifies the skin and superficial fascia by promoting drainage within the superficial and deep systems of the lymph vascular network. Instructor Erin Maranjian, establishes a supportive class environment in which you’ll learn the anatomy and physiology of the lymphatic system and effective MLD sequences that can reduce swelling and other symptoms associated with: Post-surgical edema; soft-tissue injuries; rheumatoid arthritis; fibromyalgia; whiplash; migraine headaches; PTSD; anxiety disorders; mild, medically-uncomplicated lymphedema; and more!

Prerequisite: Licensed/Registered Massage Therapists must have completed at least 500 hours of massage training or be certified by the NCBTMB, and to be a fully insured  massage or bodywork or other healthcare proviider. Proof of licensure and insturance must be supplied.. Instructional Methods: Hands-on lab and lectures .
