Pharmacology for Massage Therapists - Certified Medical Massage Curriculum

This 16-hour CEU course is the first class in our Medical Massage Certification curriculum. This course explores pharmacolgy fundamentals and their relationship to massage therapy. Topics include drug actions, pharmacokinetics, pharmacodynamics, bioavailability, and how massage techniques interact with medications. Emphasis is placed on safety, client assesment, and adapting masssage protocols.
Prerequisite: Open to licensed massage therapist or bodyworkers and licensed healthcare providers.

TCM - Introduction to Cupping

This is an introductory class to cupping that will give you the opportunity to add to your existing massage skills. You will be able to provide your clients with a new technique which will greatly enhance their treatments. Cupping set is included in the cost of the class.

Aromatherapy II - Kansas City Campus

Aromatherapy Level II focuses on advancing knowledge of essential oils and their application in massage therapy. The course begins with a review of foundational concepts from Level I and introduces the chemical composition of essential oils, exploring key families such as monoterpenes, esters, alcohols, and ketones, along with their therapeutic effects. Emphasis is placed on safety guidelines, including proper dilution ratios, contraindications, and phototoxicity. Students learn blending techniques to create customized formulations for relaxation, pain relief, circulation, and respiratory support, while considering carrier oils and their properties. Practical chemistry principles such as solubility, pH compatibility, and preservation are covered to ensure effective and safe mixtures. The program includes hands-on practice in scent testing, journaling, and creating massage blends tailored to client needs, culminating in a certification examination.

Manual Lymph Drainage (MLD) is a very effective yet gentle manual technique that is easy on the therapist’s body and well tolerated by even highly sensitive clients. MLD reduces swelling and detoxifies the skin and superficial fascia by promoting drainage within the superficial and deep systems of the lymph vascular network. Instructor Erin Maranjian, establishes a supportive class environment in which you’ll learn the anatomy and physiology of the lymphatic system and effective MLD sequences that can reduce swelling and other symptoms associated with: Post-surgical edema; soft-tissue injuries; rheumatoid arthritis; fibromyalgia; whiplash; migraine headaches; PTSD; anxiety disorders; mild, medically-uncomplicated lymphedema; and more!
